Just north of the M4 motorway is the entrance to the Garw Valley, towards the top of Garw Valley is the small village of Pontycymmer. The Garw Valley is one of the few areas still retaining the original track that used to bring coal down from the colliery. It is unused at the moment, but there are plans for it to become a steam rail service along the scenic Garw Vallley.

I am PCSO Dean Hamilton covering Pontycymmer and Blaengarw wards, supported by the Aberkenfig Neighbourhood Policing Team, which consists of 2 separate teams working on opposite shifts to one another.
