Totton town dates back to the Bronze Age in 1500 BC and is now a thriving town with a population of around 30000 people. Over the last 30 years Totton has grown in size almost doubling its population.

The town centre consists mainly of commercial premises with only a small amount of residential properties. There are a variety of shops, eateries and public houses all of which contribute to Totton’s night time economy, which makes Totton busy with both local residents and visitors.

In 1847 the railway arrived in Totton and in 1859 the station was completed making the town more accessible and has helped Totton to become a desirable place to live for those commuting to Southampton and areas further afield such as London. This railway line is now part of the major commuter line from the West Country to London.
