Neighbourhood: St Marys, Higher Brixham, Summercombe.

The ward of St. Marys with Summercombe, often referred to by locals as 'Cowtown' is a semi rural area with green fields surrounding a predominantly residential community made up of private and social housing.  Housing associations include Sanctuary Housing, Westcountry Housing, Devon and Cornwall Housing and Tor Homes.  There are four public houses along Drew Street either side of St. Marys Square.  The Saxon church of St. Marys is a focal point for the Higher Brixham area.

The beat includes the smaller shopping areas in St. Marys Square and Summercombe, Eden Park and St. Margaret Clitheroe Primary Schools, the newly build Sharkham Village and site of special scientific interest at Sharkham Point. We work closely with local business owners, school staff and Brixham Hospital, where many of our partner agencies are based.

St. Marys Park hosts annual events such as The Brixham's Hap'nin' and Cowtown Fun Day and Carnival as well as being the home of Brixham AFC (thirds and fourths) and St Marys Bowling Club.

Brixham Police are always represented at the public meetings of the Brixham Community Partnership.  Anyone who wishes to voice their concerns on any issues effecting their neighbourhood have the opportunity to voice them at the regular meetings which are advertised in the 'events' section on this site.
