My great-grandparents, Ruth Beresford Perry and Thomas Perry and three of their children lived on Clay Cross Road in the late 1870s or early 1880s before they emigrated to the USA. He was employed as a miner and several people in her family had been miners as well. She was also part of a cottage industry and knew how to make bricks and nails. If there are still any relatives living in the area I would love to hear from them. I found these details in local census records from the late 1800s. Thank you.
