Position: Team Leader
Reference: SLCTL18
Location: Penryn, Cornwall
Contract: Permanent - Full Time
Starting Salary: £18,869
This post is for 37.5 hours per week. Enhancements paid for sleep-ins.

Do you think in a person-centred way? Do you want to make a difference to people you support? Are you interested in leading a team, but don’t want to sit in an office? Do you want to take on operational responsibilities and earn more money? Are you an outstanding support worker / key worker looking for the next step? Or are you a Team Leader already and really want to join an outstanding Charity with great values?

As Team Leader you will play an important part in developing and delivering innovative person-centred services. Working on rota, and reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the service consistently meets internal and external quality standards. In addition, you will be responsible for supervising and appraising Support Workers, collating daily and weekly records into our online support planning and recording system, ensuring all staff are aware of support outcomes and are consistently working with the people we support to achieve them.

This is a 24 hour, 365 days per year service and you will need to be flexible to work as the service requires, including mornings, daytime, nights and weekends.

Experience providing services for people with learning disabilities and comprehensive risk management, familiarity with supervising a team, and a current working knowledge of CQC regulations would be advantageous (but not essential for a person with the right attitude, values and aptitude). Driving licence essential for this vacancy as you are required to drive service vehicles.

This is a role working alongside two gentleman who share their own home but have their own needs and wishes.

When asked what they would like in a staff member we were told…’’I would like them to be able to take me to do water sports, help me to make cakes and help me with the cooking, going on walks, and to take me to the cinema and be a driver’’

Also…’’I would like them to be able to help me with my personal care i.e. leg and foot cream, also help me doing my puzzles, and taking me out for a drive and drinks at the sea front, taking me to the cinema and bowling’’

Closing date: 31st January 2019
Interview: 4th February 2019
