Job Overview: Our client has retained our services to support them in appointing a Maintenance Engineering Technician to join their successful injection moulding team.

Working a days-based role for an exciting plastic injection moulding manufacturer, the Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Technician will be required to work within the process team using their technical skills to launch a new production line. You will be supporting production to minimise downtime and maximise output while improving processes. As an Engineering Technician you will work alongside the Process Engineer on all projects, you will be the ‘problem solver’ and required to provide solutions to engineering, technical and maintenance problems.

This role will suit either a Maintenance Engineer, Automation Engineer, Mechanical Fitter or electrical / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer currently in a similar role with experience of working within a hi-volume manufacturing environment, and the ability to build, disassemble and rebuild bespoke production machines, ancillaries and jigs & fixtures.

Responsibilities;

* Provide technical expertise and assistance to the Technical Associates in resolving complex machine related faults. To be the ‘problem solver’ and provide solutions to engineering, technical and maintenance problems.

* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Regulatory, and Environmental legislation, and company procedures with respect to process changes and/or equipment modification.

* To maximise equipment effectiveness through ‘Technical Excellence’. To support team-based activities aimed at achieving goals of minimising downtime, reducing waste and increasing Right First-Time metrics.

* Have the ability to disassemble and reassemble complex machinery / automation.

* Plan and specify improvements to existing processes to improve productivity and efficiency.

* Work in conjunction with the Process Engineer on all projects.

* Act as a mentor to apprentices/technicians.

* Understanding of production/departmental goals and objectives, and working with all associates achieve these aims.

* To support continuous improvement through identification and implementation of process Keep up to date with quality standards to maintain acceptable quality levels (A.Q.L) and meet good manufacturing practices.

Experience:

* Time served, HND qualified or equivalent

* You will be a strong communicator to be able to train, guide and mentor other colleagues and to put across suggestions to more senior colleagues.

* You will be IT literate and have the ability to use the SAP system to log maintenance and order parts.

* You will have a keen eye for improving processes and coming up with creative solutions to solve problems.

* It would be desirable for you to have experience with high volume manufacturing within the FMCG, Medical Device, Pharma, Automotive or Aerospace industries.
