The Ingredients department at Arla Foods produces 18000 tons of permeate powder and 4000 tons of whey protein concentrate using membrane, evaporator and drying technology. Our customers use the products as ingredients in foods and have high demands for quality and food safety. Our raw material is based on whey, which comes from quality cheese production at Taw Valley.

…by ensuring that our products can be accurately delivered to our customers on time. As a Production Operative, you will be part of a high-performance team both delivering and supporting other functions to meet the challenging team and personal goals. You will primarily be involved with:

* Working to high food quality and hygiene standards for packaging of permeate powder.
* Operating a fully automated 25 kg and 1 ton packaging machines.
* Operating, monitoring, and cleaning; membranes, evaporator, and dryer
* Checking the powder quality during packaging
* Dry cleaning of packaging machines, powder silo area, and powder storage area.
* Forklift driving and labeling of finished products.
* Giving input to continuous improvements, to support our LEAN focused business.
* Filling in the documentation for food safety and traceability.
* Maintaining strict food hygiene and health and safety standards in the department.

It’s a fast-paced site and the role will involve working on 4 days on 4 days off shift basis (most days from 6 am to 6 pm, some nights every 1 out of 4 weeks). So, as well as the joy of avoiding rush hour commutes, you’ll be able to fit your work around your lifestyle.

You will be responsible for the performance and maintenance of the Ingredients Equipment. It is your goal to ensure that the equipment performance is at capacity and stable. Ensuring maintenance tasks are completed and delivering food safety, quality and a safe place to work. To achieve this, your natural focus is on pre-planned maintenance and you are driving continuous improvement initiatives, using all the experience and knowledge present in the team.

Engaging with Operators and Team Leaders to actively contribute to the Ingredients OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency). Importantly you also complete risk assessments and standard maintenance procedures to ensure that we are always up to date, which will keep our quality, safety, hygiene and housekeeping.

Your shift pattern will be 12 hour working days, working 4 days on and 4 days off, rotating between nights and days which will allow you to make the most of the beautiful scenery nearby.

You are

You will be a multiskilled Engineer with a background in manufacturing. Food, automation and SAP Plant maintenance experience would be an advantage but not essential.

We are looking for a Production Manager who is ideally experienced within a similar FMCG environment - frozen, chilled or ambient. If you'd like to work for one of the top UK producers of frozen foods, then look no further!

Main duties of Night Production Manager:

- Full responsibility during the shift for the welfare of staff regarding Health & Safety issues.
- Labour control with the ability to assess labour wastage.
- Ensure that complete compliance and continual improvement to the Quality System is achieved.
- Ensure that Hygiene and Food Safety Standards requirements are in place and monitored.
- Ensure that all production documentation is completed correctly and that traceability is met at all times.

- Security of the site during the shift.
