This is an exciting opportunity to work for The Tank Museum in its brand new state of the art workshop facility.

As a vehicle technician you will play a key role in the maintenance repair and restoration of the Museum’s collection of historic armoured vehicles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for regular inspections on tracked vehicles, carrying out fault diagnosis, service and repairs to required standards to ensure safe operation of the vehicles for the Museum’s events and activities.

This work will include completing paperwork such as job card write ups, service report sheets and using the Museum’s in-house recording systems.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a busy working environment and to actively seek solutions to problems.

You will be required to have experience in maintaining tracked or commercial vehicles and vehicle systems although candidates from a light vehicle background will also be considered.

The Vehicle Technician will be expected to drive vehicles at events and activities organised by The Tank Museum, for which tracked vehicle driver training will be provided.

An NVQ level 3 Motor Vehicle or equivalent qualification in light/heavy vehicle repair or similar is essential together with a full valid UK driving license and health & safety qualifications relevant to a workshop environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Tank Museum as an Assistant Exhibitions Manager at a time of major development with the redisplay of a large gallery into a new Second World War exhibition.

The display will feature stories of Royal Armoured Corps crewmen through a battle chronology, making use of a variety of interpretive media including graphics, audio visual, interactives and heavy use of supporting objects. The Assistant Exhibitions Manager will help to co-manage this project, taking a role in the design & procurement process, content development using in-house graphic and audio visual staff, and the strip-out of the existing hall.

The Assistant Exhibitions Manager will lead on the management of existing galleries consisting of ten exhibitions. Key tasks will include co-ordination of temporary displays, gallery refreshment and the monitoring of health and safety in relation to all exhibits. The post holder will also contribute to the creation of a new ten year exhibition plan.

You will be an experienced manager with a proven background in delivering high quality exhibitions with a relevant degree or professional qualification in a related field.

* Oversee the effective, compliant and timely delivery of Additional Works in accordance with Government Regulatory and Statutory undertakings, complying with all Health & Safety and Environmental standards and policies.
* Monitor Supply Chain work teams to ensure suitably qualified and experienced operatives are directed to relevant tasks and ensure that all operatives have appropriate vehicles, equipment and skills to perform relevant tasks.

* Review site risk registers, follow management processes and notify Management of any defects on equipment or systems.
* Ensure, as far as reasonably practical, that all persons on site observe the requirements of JSP 375, work closely with the Mobile Authorised Persons team to ensure compliance.
* Ensure compliance with the Asbestos register and management plan and the Legionella management plan.
* Identify opportunities on establishments that will support the MoD’s carbon reduction targets.
* Support management in providing optimal solutions to customer requirements to resolve end user issues.
* Understand operational priorities of the HoE, develop and maintain close working and effective relationships with local DIO and end users to pro-actively support estate activities and provide professional and technical advice as required.
* Support end users in the development of new work requirements and the provision of formal Additional Works project submissions.
