The service has been developed to meet the needs of people who have a learning disability and/or autism and complex needs, including mental health needs and behaviours which challenge. The service supports 10 people in a supported housing scheme, commissioned and developed as part of the Transforming Care Programme in Essex.

The development will be completed late summer ‘18 and has been carefully designed to accommodate individuals with a range of needs and special requirements. Tenants are moving from various hospital settings across Essex into their own self-contained flats and will need highly personalised support to allow them to increase their confidence and independence within a community setting. Tenants will need well planned, personalised support to allow them to make a successful transition to supported living and to become more confident and independent.

Requirements for the Support Worker role include:

Prior experience of supporting people with a learning disability and a forensic history and/or autism who have complex needs
Have strong values, emotional intelligence and good problem-solving skills
The ability to work collaboratively in order to achieve positive outcomes
Have relevant experience in implementing PBS and positive risk management approaches
Demonstrate excellent support planning and report writing skills and be able to support the managerial team in achieving excellent CQC standards.
