An exciting new position has become available for a skilled Machine Operator to join the team of one of our most established textile clients based in the Hyde area. The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for operating and tending to the knitting machines.

Main responsibilities:

* Maintaining safe working practices.

* Housekeeping/daily maintenance activities (to 5S standards)

* Compliance with company Works Instructions/Procedures

* Understand and identify all relevant materials and characteristics if yarn and identify common faults or any flaws rendering the product defective, be able to rectify by taking corrective action.

* Assess and demonstrate understanding if the correct data from the relevant documentation such as, but not limited to, works orders, dimensional check sheet and production specification sheet.

* Competently perform all relevant production tasks such as but not limited to, dimensional checks, daily cleaning / maintenance checks, accurately documenting production issues and comments in the day book, when required.

* Correctly pack, label and mark the production information on the box.

* Perform routine operations of repair for example, replace needles in the correct position, present pickers, and tube guides etc.

* Use observational skills to identify and determine the nature of any problems, positional threats to quality and/or production early on in the production cycle and report where required.

* Any other duties as and when reasonably requested by line manager.

Due to company growth, our client are looking to appoint an Technical Coordinator to coordinate all technical information between external third parties, architects and engineers throughout the pre-construction and project delivery phases.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure all drawings and details are accurate and commercially suitable throughout the construction process

* Co-ordinate and chair design team meetings with internal and external participants

* Attend and contribute to progress meetings on site as required.

* Co-ordinate the planning process where required and review planning approval to ensure Conditions are addresses prior to start on site

* Agree construction specification, SAP and Code for Sustainable Homes strategy for the project

* Coordinate the submission of a Building Control Application and supporting documentation

* Liaise with consultants and attend meetings to progress all relevant Technical matters

* Obtain and negotiate best value on approvals for Section Agreements.

* Assist Surveying and Buying Team in review and approval of subcontractor design information.

* Ensure accurate and on time design information in line with client requirements

* Ensure cost effective design control and buildability

* Maintain a register of current drawings for all new build contracts and issue design information to production teams

* Review and check contract documentation, warranties and bond requirements in liaison with Contracts Manager and Surveyor.

The Person
