The Company

One of the UK's leading manufacturer of PVC products are looking to
recruit an Experienced Injection Moulding Machine Setter/ Technician
due to new and exciting growth plans based at their head office in
Greater Manchester on a rotating Double Days shift pattern. 6:00am -
2:00pm / 2:00pm - 10:00pm rotating weekly Monday to Friday.


• Set precision injection moulding machines to produce components to
an acceptable standard.

• Ensure that containers that receive the moulded parts are checked
and emptied on a regular basis.

• Loading and unloading of injection mould tools.

• Emptying containers holding the moulded parts and moving approved
products to the holding areas.

• Checking product quality, colour, shape and size ensuring that the
sprue are placed into the correct material bins for grinding.

• Assist in the safe starting and shutting down of the injection
moulding machinery at the beginning and end of shifts.

• Some physical lifting of loads may be necessary during the course of
the working day, especially when handling Injection Mould Tools and
25kg bags of plastic.

• Your work place and working area must be kept clean and tidy.

• Safety footwear is deemed compulsory in this area and must be worn
at all times.

• Perform within the requirements of your position and to the
companies Health & Safety standards, as defined in the company Health
& Safety Policy.

• Work to the companies quality system in line with the requirements
of ISO 9002. A fully documented Procedures Manual has been developed
to ensure the requirements are met.

• Carry out any other duties when required. This could involve working
in other departments within the factory as and when deemed necessary.

As a leading manufacturer of centrifugal pumps and associated systems, supply and servicing of pumps, pump packages and equipment for over 100 years, our client is now looking to expand their team and recruit a Pump Fitter to be based in their workshop in Hyde.

The Pump Fitter Engineer will be responsible for dismantling, inspection, reporting and assembly of pumps and valves including site removal and installation, therefore occasional site works are required. It is anticipated that the Pump Fitter will have the flexibility to work overtime during the weeks and weekends (overtime paid accordingly).

Applications from ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this role and are strongly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

Dismantle rotating equipment to component level.
Identification of components.
Compile detailed condition reports on equipment dismantled.
Fault-finding on break down equipment.
Assemble equipment using engineering drawings or experience/knowledge.
Interpret maintenance manuals, drawings, schematics, and repair equipment, utilising specialist knowledge and standard test instruments and tools.

Injection Moulding Machine Setter / Operator

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Injection Moulding Machine Setter / Operative to advance their career and take up a new challenge. The right candidate will need to have at least 2 years experience in Injection Mould Machine Setting. Your duties:

Primary Objectives

To produce precision injection moulded components to an acceptable standard, utilising machinery and associated equipment as effectively as possible.

To operate Injection Moulding Machines at optimum running speeds, keeping the machines supplied with raw material, ensuring that the receiving parts containers are emptied on a regular basis.

Main Activities ~ Operating

Correct interpretation of Daily Plastic Distribution Sheets and ensure they are completed after material allocation.
Transportation of raw materials from the material stores to the Injection Moulding department and distributing accordingly. The following must be checked against the Machine Setup Data Sheet,

Material Colour
Material Type

Monitor raw material levels in machine hoppers and fill up when required, ensuring that machines are continually ‘fed’ raw material to maintain the running of the machine.

Mix colour masterbatch (manually) into raw materials to the specified percentage.

Monitor and maintain automatic colour masterbatch hoppers.

Mix ‘re-grind material with virgin raw material when required.

To manually separate ‘sprues’ and ‘components, into their relevant containers.

To manually separate different components produced from one tool when necessary, into their relevant containers.

Monitor ‘machine set counts’ and take any necessary action when production run is completed

Continuous inspection of components being produced, as detailed on the Inspection & Testing Checklist displayed throughout the department. It is essential that satisfactory Quality Standards are met.

To add an anti bacterial solution to the cooling water system when instructed by department manager.

To fill injection mould tool waterways with oxygen inhibitor solution after use, to prevent rusting.

Continuous checks to ensure that any ancillary equipment is functioning correctly
