As a Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible to design, develop and manage innovative solutions within maritime security and defence markets. The successful candidate will oversee the product development process from initial concept through to product handover.

You will work within a team of engineers based at the companies Head Office and remotely to design Sonar systems for the maritime industry. The role does involve occasional travel, mainly in the UK but potential for occasional worldwide travel.

Key Responsibilities
-Manage the entire product development process from initial concept to market release
-Design and develop new & existing products to internal and external customer requirements
-Verify and validate Electro-mechanical designs using hand calculations, finite element analysis and experimental testing.
-Assembly of mechanical prototypes, type approval testing as required

Essential Skills
- Finite element analysis is essential - ANSYS ideally
-Advanced 3D CAD modelling experience - preferably Autodesk/InventorCAD experience
-Understanding of networked systems and TCP/IP
-Strong and recent experience/expertise in commercial product development, delivery and support
