Based in the Midlands, established in 1955, This well known company specialise in metal pressing & forming, fabrication, CNC machining and press tooling manufacture.

The Role.

o Performing TPM activities as and when required, including cleaning, checking, adjusting, and testing, according to equipment checklists
o Make repairs to equipment promptly and effectively as required
o Maintains up-to-date spare parts inventory and arranges necessary ordering of replacement parts
o Maintains accurate TPM records
o Prepared and able to train operators in basic equipment repairs / maintenance
• Able to operate production machinery especially CNC for the purpose of set-up, adjustment or fault finding
• Source and liaise with 3rd party contractors to complete statutory or complex maintenance / repairs
• Performs other related tasks as required continually focusing on the prevention and elimination of problem reoccurrence rather than the traditional “fix it” approach
• Comfortable working in a “start-up” environment as and when new equipment is introduced
• Maybe required to do basic building maintenance or repair work in all areas of the plant
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area using the 5S (or similar) techniques and follows all safety and works regulations
• Works closely with colleagues and team leaders to build and maintain good working relationships

Skills, abilities and characteristics

• Mechanical engineering qualifications or time worked apprenticeship
• Previous experience of working on CNC / PLC production machinery and knowledge of repair / fault finding
• Understanding of electrical works or relevant qualifications – City & Guilds 17th Edition level and PAT Testing
• Previous experience of working in a manufacturing / production environment on multiple sites, preferably working with high volume and bespoke products
• Team player and willingness to get the job done
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
• Driven, passionate and committed to ensuring personal and company success

Job Title: Shift Engineer

Shift: 12 hour shifts, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, 2 days on – this pattern is for days then the repeat pattern on nights.

Our Client is a well establish and growing Composite product production firm that requires a

Shift Engineer to work in the Leicester site. The company has won numerous new

contracts and now are on a drive to for fill their client’s requirements with hiring talented

Shift Engineers to help with Electrical (30%) and mechanical (70%) breakdowns, and you must

ideally have manufacturing maintenance experience.

This role would suit a time served trained Mechanical Engineer.

The Shift Engineer is responsible for the onsite maintenance, repair and refurbishment of

Predominantly production-based assets in a range of values and complexity.

Requirements are (but not limited to):

Proactive PPM in line with specific site requirements

Maintaining the highest standards of workmanship

Promoting Continuous Improvement and a Positive Culture

Comply fully with all legislation (Health and Safety at Work act 1974 etc…)

Maintain packing plant in a flexible and reactive manner

Mechanical repair to packing machines, conveyors and other plant

Have a basic understanding of Electrical maintenance i.e. motors, contactors, sensors and PLC I/O

Knowledge and experience of Fabrication work i.e. welding, gas cutting, grinding

Good and sound knowledge of machine tools

Proactive in identifying problems and finding solutions

Can work well as a team and on their own initiative

Knowledge of Pneumatics

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of:

Ideally NVQ level qualified

Time served Apprenticeship / Training with experience

Occupational qualifications (Maintenance/Electrical/Mechanical)
