A brand new, exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, commercially astute, highly driven Sales Manager to oversee the function of Sales and Service within the business. Materials Planning Analyst- Permanent- Full Time- Great Yarmouth- £37K

Hales Group are seeking an individual to join our Materials Planning Team. You will be responsible for plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. You will determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labour requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

What is a Materials Planning Analyst expected to do?

To forecast delivery against customer enquiries when customers’ requirement is for delivery shorter than standard lead-time.
To progress shop orders to meet delivery promises and advise the Assembly Manager, Assembly Supervisors and sales desk when dates cannot be met.
To determine the allocation of stock orders in the knowledge of differing priorities.
To intelligently manipulate the production plan in accordance with company procedures to optimise customer satisfaction and billings figures.
To maintain integrity of the MRP system in order to improve sales deliveries and lead-times.
To control Despatch and oversee allocation of month end order output to endeavour to achieve on-time delivery performance in full for all customers.
To provide departmental reports from mainframe source data in order to fully inform key personnel of the Value Streams KPI’s.
To control and action, alongside production the handling of customer returns to ensure complaints / re-manufacture is handled with speed and efficiency.
To receive progress enquiries from Sales, investigate lead-time that is achievable so that the order may be obtained.
To Provide the Planning Manager with relevant Strategic information as and when required.
Provide Strategic Purchasing with quantities and required dates to maintain delivery on time.
To observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation
Any other reasonable task as may be requested from time to time.

What You Will Bring?

Strong educational background, in business or management or similar.
Experience in Production Control and/or materials planning and experience of a computerised MRP system essential.
Experience in SAP is a plus.
Have excellent interpersonal skills.

Hales Group are seeking a Supply Chain Manager that is responsible for timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. You will ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at the established levels. You will coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain. Resources are focused on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through production processes, and the establishment of key performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor actual performance against goals.

Responsibilities:

Leading the Supply Chain functional departments at our Great Yarmouth facility including Planning, Procurement, Warehousing and Logistics.
Development and actively track and maintain departmental KPI's to ensure business goals are met and exceeded.
Proactive reporting to plant management and customer service, material shortages that impact delivery and revenue commitments.
Develop and execute recovery plans for anticipated material shortages to eliminate or minimise impact to production and customers.
Planning short- and long-term production and inventory requirements based on forecasts, historical usage, capacity and demand.
Performing root cause analysis for material shortages and implementation of long-term corrective action plans.
Manage a group of external and intercompany suppliers ensuring delivery on time is achieved as well as quality.
Identify and develop key talent within all Supply Chain functions.
Manage and develop material savings projects and initiatives.
Develop and execute continuous improvement strategies in process and systems.
Oversee and advise on trade compliance issues at both customer service quotation stage and logistics, including license determination, license application, proof of export reconciliation and records maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Supply chain, business or equivalent technical discipline
Extensive experience in Supply Chain management and associated discipline
Extensive knowledge and practical application of planning methods and process
Experience and understanding of Lean concepts ( Standard Work, Visual Management, KanBan, 5S+1, VSM, Material Replenishment and Flow)
General Knowledge of Marine, Oil & Gas industry, low volume, high mix production.
Previous experience using Sage software and SAP advantageous
Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel and Powerpoint)
