As the Controls & Automation Engineer you will challenge yourself with a combination of machinery functionality improvements and sharing knowledge throughout the Engineering maintenance team to expand the skills available within the business.   
The Controls & Automation Engineer role  
The Controls & Automation Engineer will be maintaining and improving the product assets on site to minimise waste and maximise efficiency in a pro-active manner.
Providing hands on technical assistance to Production, Engineering and Quality team the controls Engineer will be a subject matter expert within the team.
The Controls & Automation Engineer will maximise the equipment up-time with efficient response to breakdowns and make themselves available when maintenance need to escalate an issue.
Write / programme software or modify to optimise a manufacturing process.
To ensure that the site has a robust, reliable operating platform and that adequate procedures and training are in place to recover from any potential failures.

The ideal Controls & Automation Engineer will be able to demonstrate Schneider programming skills to a high level and be conversant with PLC systems and other automation interfaces  
It would also be highly advantageous for the controls engineer to have a good understanding of machine networking. 
Be confident in compiling reports and making presentations.
The successful candidate may also have worked as:   
Control Technician, Engineer, Robotics Engineer, Senior Controls Engineer, Automation engineer.

Machine Setter role overview

Your main role will be to ensure that machines within the Brush making and Manufacturing operation are set up to the required specification to produce a quality product. To provide ideas and support for any efficiency or manufacturing developments, and to encourage and develop continual improvements and reduce downtime.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Setting up and maintaining machines as efficiently as possible

Ensuring machine operation is carried out effectively, efficiently and in a timely manner to achieve a quality product to the desired specifications.

Closely follow specification sheets and identify and report any changes required

Using precise measuring devices and instruments as required

Support the Machine Operators in any additional training requirements
