Design Engineer Role:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will join the Earthmovers Engineering Department and responsibilities of the role will include:

Prepare design concepts & GA's for test / release into production.

Work with service / QA to solve field issues on current and new products.

Develop VAVE concepts.

Preparation of technical specifications and bills of material.

Capable of engineering calculations to substantiate engineering decisions.

Prepare, update, issue and checking design control documents such as Engineering change notes timing plan, cost estimation, etc.

Design of machinery and subsystems such as hydraulic circuits, power train, fabricated structures, plastics / bodywork & castings.

Selection and specification of components and materials including plastics, cast iron & steel, rubber.

Experience of working in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of the types of different manufacturing processes and supply chain used in the production of construction or similar equipment.

Liaising with suppliers to ensure prototype part delivery is within project timing.

Work with internal and external suppliers to gain supplier sign off for engineering sign off.

Design Engineer Requirements:

A good engineering knowledge of off highway systems would be advantageous.

3D CAD system operation (NX preferable) to conduct design studies and concept work. Knowledge of PLM / Teamcenter is preferred.

Working knowledge of Failure investigation and root cause analysis - 8D, DFMEA.

Skilled in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ideally, you will have a strong engineering background, possessing a Degree/HND or equivalent experience.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment, flexibility and enthusiasm as well as a sense of urgency and ownership of projects.

The ability to communicate clearly, interfacing with other members of the team including Indian Design Centre, Manufacturing, Service and Marketing is a pre-requisite.

Travel on business may be required periodically.
