Transforming Care Services are working in partnership with one of our clients to support them with the recruitment of a number of support workers to work in a supported living service in Bidford On Avon - supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues and on the autistic spectrum.

The role would consist of working 37.5 hour per week plus one of two sleep ins. The shifts will be a vary depending on what is happening in the service and can include 7-3/8-4/2-10 or 3-10pm plus sleep in. The rate of pay is dependent on your experience and qualifications so ranges from £8ph -£8.50ph (for people with at least 3 years’ experience in care and support and have their level 2 or 3). Sleeps ins pay £71.93-£76.32 per sleep.

The role of support worker involves supporting clients on a 121 basis and each shift will be different depending on what your client has arranged for the day. It could be going out for a meal with another client and their support worker, going shopping, baking or cooking, building and improving daily living skills and independence, social activities - bowling, going to the cinema etc. There are 8 clients who live in the service and all have their own 121 support packages and will need person centred support. You will promote your client’s self-esteem, emotional and physical health, promote good personal hygiene and personal care and promote the rights of people with learning disabilities and complex needs. Some of the clients may have behaviours that challenge so if you have worked with people with challenging behaviours in the past that would put you in with a great chance of getting to interview stage.

To be considered for this role you must be flexible to work on a rolling rota of shifts to include 1 or 2 sleep ins per week and have at least 6 months recent experience of supporting adults with complex needs, challenging behaviour or autism. Full training will be given, and you will be enrolled on your Level 2 or 3 qualification on completion of your 6-month probation period. You will also be awarded a one-off payment of £100 for completing your probation period, be entitled to 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), be enrolled on the pension scheme, be given free life insurance, have access to their free and confidential counselling service and receive staff discount in many high street and online stores.

The role would consist of working either working 30 hours per week (3 nights) or 40 hours per week (4 nights) - you can chose as there are 2 posts available and the shifts start at 10pm and finish at 8am.

The role of support worker involves supporting clients on a 121 basis and each shift will be different depending on what is happening in the service. There are 8 clients who live in the service and all have their own 121 support packages and will need person centred support. You will promote your client’s self-esteem, emotional and physical health, promote good personal hygiene and personal care and promote the rights of people with learning disabilities and complex needs. You will be responsible for the health and safety of the clients in the service throughout the night, making sure the service is safe and secure and that clients are settled throughout your shift. You will be responsible for handing over to the day staff after your shift and recording and reporting accurate information.
