* Briefing/debriefing drivers on the plan and flagging up any late deliveries
* Constantly reviewing tachograph infringements and driver performance and gathering information on driving style from Microlise.
* Coordinating training for drivers with on site trainers and helping coach drivers to improve their driving style
* Keeping a line of communication with drivers who are late and communicating changes to drivers
* Downloading Digicards
* Monitoring legal and company compliance, checking drivers are safe to work

* Strong understanding of transport compliance

Reporting to the Transport Manager, the Transport Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that approximately 80 full time drivers comply with O-license requirements. Day to day duties include:

* Overseeing direct reports of Driver Trainers and ensuring that their CPC driver training is to the required standard
* Monitoring and managing driver hours, WTDs, license checks, Digicards, DQCards for all permanent and agency drivers.
* Constantly reviewing tachograph infringements and driver performance and gathering information on driving style from Microlise. This will involve producing infringement letters, 1-2-1s with drivers regarding their performance and arranging driver training as appropriate.
* Developing a site training plan to drive standards and deliver this plan via classroom based or cab based training as appropriate
* Working closely with Driver Trainers to ensure telematics and driving style/fuel efficiency targets are met and provide suggestions for improving these to the Transport Manager
* Validate 10% of pre-start driver checks in order to assess the quality and organise extra training if needed
* Carrying out risk assessments and presenting results
* Ensuring that the site hits KPIs of training productivity, tachograph infringement levels, Accident and Damage levels, Vehicle Service, Inspection and MOT, Accuracy of Training records and Legal compliance

Requirements for the Transport Compliance Manager role:

* Strong understanding of transport compliance, including vehicle construction and use regulation, ideally you hold a CPC National
* Ideally possessing a LGV Category C + E
* Exposure to working with different vehicle types and makes
* Thorough knowledge of O Licence legal compliance, risk and health & safety procedures and legislation
* Experience of carrying out Risk Assessments
* Experience in developing Trainers, ideally a Train the Trainer qualification
* Experience in monitoring tachograph systems
