Introduction

There is an exciting new team developing in the Pewsey area! The National Recruitment Centre for the British Army seeks professionally qualified team players who want to advise applicants on why their application has been declined and possible pathways to appeal. There are several roles suitable for Registered Nurses, Paramedics, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists or Community Psychiatric Nurses. You will be responsible for speaking to candidates whose Occupational Health indicators have not met the required medical standards and be competent in providing explanation in a calm and reasoned fashion.

Overview

Team24 are working with Capita, one of the largest outsourcing partners in the UK. Capita has a 10 year contract with the MOD to provide an end to end recruitment solution for the British Army, from candidate attraction to preparation of candidates for Initial Army training. We are supporting the Capita team in finding clinical professionals to explain why their application does not meet the required medical standards. Also to explain the appeal process and types of supporting evidence. You will need a warm approach in delivering clinical information in layman’s terms to applicants. You could be a Registered Nurse, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Community Psychiatric Nurse.

You will be

Making telephone contact with candidates who have previously been screened to the Army’s Occupational Health standards but have been rejected and use your clinical experience to demonstrate why. If a candidate pushes back you should use excellent questioning techniques to understand the precise nature of the issue the customer is raising. Following business protocols and policies, updating systems and answering questions in a compassionate manner, keeping records for audit purposes. Maintaining own professional development for example up to date personal portfolio in line with your professional qualification.

Training in understanding the medical standards that candidates are assessed against will be provided, but relevant experience in a similar area is a plus. Your five years of post-qualification experience will be used in an engaging role.

You will be

Undertaking telephone assessment based on a set of questions aimed at highlighting candidates (at the first stage of the medical screening process) that are ineligible to join the British Army, and those that may require further review at the next stage of their medical screening following the disclosures made during the teleassessment. Your medical knowledge will produce reliable and accurate reports supporting the decision making process for senior colleagues. A warm approach is needed whilst guiding candidates through questions which will determine any underlying conditions, and you will be able to refer cases to Capita Doctors, where additional clinical judgement is required.

Working in a fast paced administration department, you'll be providing support within the probation office, if successful you will follow set procedures and will exercise some independent judgment in carrying out instructions, under general supervision. Examples of work performed will include but not be restricted to:

CEAS provides, on behalf of the wider MOD, specialist advice and support on matters relating to the education of Service Children as follows:

* Special Educational Needs (SEN):

* Issuing of general advice and registration paperwork;
* Processing of registration paperwork in order to inform Chain of Command.

* Overseas:

* Processing of Educational Clearance Certificates for SP assigned overseas;
* Processing of paperwork and casework relating to eligibility for educational allowances in overseas assignment areas.

* CEA:

* Issuing of boarding schools advice documentation and application paperwork;

* Helpline assistant:

* Work as part of a larger team to provide a confidential helpline service to service parents on educational matters.
