Post: Our manufacturing client are looking for an experienced Plastic Injection moulding Process Engineer to join their successful team.

General Summary:

As Moulding Process Engineer you will lead and provide technical support for the specification, purchase, installation and qualification of Plastic Injection Mould tools and equipment. Projects will include new products, capacity expansion and process development on pilot and industrial mould tools and equipment. You will also be responsible to provide support for fault finding and process improvements on existing mould tools and equipment as well as exploring new technologies for plastic injection moulding and process technologies.

This role will suit an experienced Injection Moulding Process Engineer or Moulding Engineer or Project Engineer with good injection moulding machine processing skills.

Responsibilities:

* Lead project activities for plastic injection moulding and process development from concept phase through to pilot line and industrial manufacturing processes.

* Lead and facilitate design / specification, purchase, installation and qualification of mould tools, moulding machines, ancillary equipment and service requirements for their installation.

* Selection and management of moulding equipment suppliers for the project.

* Identify and implement process improvements (efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness).

* Management of project activities in accordance to project schedule and budget.

* Working closely with the project team to ensure required support is provided to meet project objectives.

* Fully document project activities and equipment qualification work in accordance with internal procedures, GMP and Regulatory Controls.

* Support integration of new technologies in plastic injection moulding and process development for the site.

* Provide support for training / development of engineering resources.

* Communicate and provide regular and accurate up to date work planning and reports for jobs and activities on related projects.

* Demonstrate strong and clear accountability / responsibility for successful and timely completion of designated tasks.

Additional information on competencies required:

* Plastic injection moulding technologies, mould tool designs and process development knowledge and experience

* Problem analysis, fault finding on injection mould tools and equipment

* Design of Experiment for plastic injection moulding process development

* Structured and controlled working practices with clear and accurate documentation, reporting and presentation skills

* Project management skills (MS Project)

* Good time management and ability to prioritise work

* Risk analysis / FMEA

* Statistical analysis / SPC system

* Six Sigma methodologies

* Knowledge of GMP and Regulatory requirements for medical industry

* Ability to work within a Cleanroom environment

Experience:

* Good level of hands on engineering experience in plastic injection moulding within a medium to high volume manufacturing environment

* Knowledge of polymers and injection mould tool designs

Qualifications:

* Degree / HND qualified in engineering, preferably Mechanical, Polymer science or similar disciplines
