I have used this road for years, now and again, because it is a wide road and a way through to Fulham rather than sit in traffic in the Wandsworth Bridge road.
I happen to be using my car at the moment as I am 66, and not using public transport because of Covid, and using Wandsworth bridge because of 3 bridges across the Thames that are out of action, to go North. I hasten to add that my journeys are few.
The signage to show that cars are not allowed up this road now is extremely poor, and I never expected to be fined for doing this. I am very upset that the change to this road has caused me to be penalised without a better warning, and I will be fined again as I used it last night, as well, without any prior knowledge. I am going to appeal.
I am going to contest the notice on lack of clear signage but I am also going to stop using Sainsburys as many others probably now are too as I don;t have the time to sit in the traffic all the way round.
Today I received a penalty notice. Sadly, I also went yesterday 24th March to Sainsbury's, so now I will get another penalty.
If h&f want to prohibit cars on this road, there should be proper signage and erected in one or two sections of the length of the road. This is tantamount to stealing. I will write to h&f to complain and hope they see common sense.
Perhaps in their reply, they could send me a photo grab of their signage.

Why is the road called Napps Way (belonging to Napp, but minus an
apostrophe as is usual with such nomenclature)? Moreover, who or
what is, or was, “Napp” in the respective, possessive case?
Several years ago, I met an elderly man (probably in his late-eighties)
who lives on Bentham Drive, Liverpool 16, and during a conversation
with him whilst in a Northwest Passenger Transport Ambulance on the
way to the former RLUH (Royal Liverpool University Hospital), he told
me that he could remember (when he was a boy, living in Childwall,
Liverpool 16) that, “Where Napps Way is now, during WW2, there was
a two-man gun emplacement on the, then, open land to protect the
railway line passing over Childwall Valley Road - next to the railway
bridge - when suddenly, as they were loading a live “shell” into the gun’s
breach, the aforementioned “shell” accidentally exploded in the gun’s
breach killing both of the two soldiers, that had been manning the gun,
instantly! (Very sad, of course, but could - perhaps - two ghosts relating
to those two, very unfortunately and prematurely-killed soldiers have
haunted that place of their deaths ever since - and have any residents
of Napps Way - formerly and in its latest incarnation - seen two, WW2
(uniformed) soldiers unexpectedly appear in or near their homes?)
