The area centres on Landport but takes in small areas which are perhaps related more closely to Somerstown, Fratton, and Buckland.

There are a number of shops, notably along Fratton Road which forms the eastern boundary of the beat, but the area predominantly consists of social housing, mostly in the form of flats.
