Neighbourhood Policing

Police Force:
Find a Local Neighbourhood Watch Scheme

The Rural West area of Okehampton is a relatively large area consisting mainly of small villages and farmland stretching onto the northern edge of Dartmoor. The largest town on the Rural West patch is the market town of Hatherleigh.

The main issue of concern for the Neighbourhood Policing Team, as highlighted by local residents, is to identify antisocial behaviour in the area and deal with it appropriately by targeting the individuals responsible and by taking positive action whenever possible.

We are also working alongside the Okehampton Neighbourhood Team in carrying out speed checks and stop checks on motorists in targeted areas. Our aim is to educate motorists and report those found committing offences, such as using mobile phones and speeding.

We hope you will continue to alert us to your community concerns via this website or at one of our meetings in the future.
