She is still alive but sadly not going to be for long and I was hoping I could get a FaceTime or Skype around her old neighbourhood for her since she hasn't seen her old home in many decades and still talks about it to me whenever I see her. I have shown her street maps of the place and she ended up crying of joy since she doesn't know technology could show her this but I was hoping I could get videos of her street since her late husband lived down the end of bakers st when they were kids during the war and her dad often went to the pub. I am trying to find out why the lane is named Swing Swang?
It has been known known this since at least 1905 when hedge making contents used to be held here.
Swing Swang is often used to describe a fairground ride. I remember Swing Boats. Were they a bit like this or is Swing Swang another name for swings?
Swing Swangs are also mentioned in connection to orchards. Or were orchards just good places to have swings?
