Purpose and Responsibilities

Our client is currently looking for an experience Line Shift Supervisor to join their depot based in North Lincolnshire. The North Lincolnshire Depot operate and extraction process or recyclable materials that includes mechanical, automatic and Manual processes. An important part of this extraction process is the manual picking line that requires a team of people to hand sort and extract recycling materials from pre-sorted and processed construction waste streams. In this vital role your key responsibility will be to ensure the team are working to the highest levels of safety and operational output possible

Specific Responsibilities

The manage a team of full time and agency employees to hand sort processed waste to extract recycling and disposal value
The ensure that the correct manning is available
To ensure that the line is operational at all times and starts at the required time
To ensure throughput is maximised with the highest level of tonnage throughput is maintained throughout the day
To ensure that targeted extraction performance is achieved
The achieve and exceed KPI targets on a daily basis covering the efficient running and extraction performance
To manage the documentation associated with performance measurement
To manage time sheets and liaise with Site Ops Manager on performance of team and individual
To manage break levels and individual time management of all team members
Encourage, train and coach all employees to maximise performance on an individual and team level
To deliver ongoing and routine maintenance of equipment to minimise downtime and ensure maximum performance
To deliver the highest levels of personal and team safety performance
To ensure that all employees are operating in line with company and standard operating procedures
To ensure that all staff are trained and fully inducted into all operational and safety risk assessments and work instructions

Person Specification

You’ll also have:

The ability to manage and direct a team of temp and perm employees
Motivational and control skills
Good communication skills
A good understanding of moving machinery
Physically demanding role required a good standard of health
Working pattern Monday to Friday and every other Saturday Morning on a rota system.
