Spent my formative years at Whittonstall School with Mr McCall being the head teacher . Unfortunately the farm we lived on (Highfield) was taken over for Opencast and we moved to Yorkshire. We will always miss Northumberland and never cut our ties . We brought dad back to Blanchland even if it is just inside the county, but that’s where he met and married Mam . Sorry folks but will always love the county even though I was nine when I left. X
